What is Sunsetting?

Sunsetting is the intentional phase-out or cessation of products, services, programs, or policies owing to a variety of circumstances. It shows a strategic approach to change management, attempting to ease transitions while considering the requirements of those affected.

Sunsetting is a term used in the technology industry to describe the planned discontinuance of software, apps, or hardware devices. Companies may retire goods that are no longer relevant, efficient, or consistent with their strategic goals. Typically, this approach entails notifying the termination well in advance, allowing users to transfer to alternate alternatives and migrate their data.
